Before you begin to role play, there are some basic ground rules that need be laid down. Please take a couple of minutes to read them, so I don’t have to get upset when they’re violated.
Thank you!

Be Polite!
It is very important to respect your fellow role players. If you have a relatively rude character, it is understandable; but I think everyone knows where the line between ‘in character’ and ‘just plain mean’ are. Please do not cross this line.
If you experience any bullying outside of role play, please let an administrator know. We will not tolerate blatant rudeness at this site. On that note, if you and another player have an issue with one another, please keep your problems out of roleplay. Instead, PM that person and work things out in private.
Bottom line: treat others with respect and you'll gain respect. You just might find that you will make lifelong friends here--I know I have!

Activity
Post often. I know there will be times when you just can't get to the computer, but don't be a hermit! Let us know you're here. That's the reason you have joined anyway, isn't it?
That being said, please try to post at least once a month. If you do not post for six months, your character may be killed off. I hope you all understand why.
If you think you do not want to be a member anymore, please just let me know. If you are simply going on vacation/are ill/etc, please let me know! It will be a lot less stressful if I know why you aren’t here. There is an absence board specifically designed for these occasions.
We care about each other here. Stay active and stay healthy!

Language Restrictions
This site is rated M for Mature. Please be aware there will be filthy language and grotesque violence. There may also be some sexual material. Please label your threads with an [M] in the title if it contains such subject matter. Please and thank you.

Posting Threads
ALL MEMBERS are permitted to start their own threads. In fact, it’s encouraged! However, when starting a thread, please make it worth posting in for others. Threads containing one post or zero replies will be deleted.
Also, when posting, it is only common sense for you to post in the 3rd person. No other forms, please. If you post in 1st or 2nd person, you might receive a PM from me telling you to fix it.

Spam!!
There are three types of spam. Advertising, one-line posts, and canned meat. None of them are welcome at The 'Verse.
That said, if you spam (advertise) this forum, you'll be banned. This is your one and only warning. If you want to advertise your website, put it in your signature, profile, or affiliate with us. Do not urge other members to go to other sites via OOC posts or Private Messages. It's rude not only to me but to your fellow Role Players. Just don’t do it.
Spam (one-liners) are annoying and pointless. It is very difficult to reply to this type of spam, and therefore if you do it, I will either delete your post or write you a message out of frustration telling you to modify it. Sometimes I might do both. One-liners are only allowed in the out-of-character boards at the bottom of the site.
Spam (canned meat) is just gross.

Double Posting
Double Posting is when you post two or more times consecutively. Please do not do this. If you feel you have more to say, simply click the ‘modify’ button on your post and add it in. Double posting is only accepted in specified areas such as the out-of-character boards at the bottom of the site. Even then, it's just as easy to modify a post.

Characters
Please, no mary-sues, or anything of that nature. You must also have a play-by and at least an avatar of that play-by. When your app has been approved, it will be moved to the approved section and you will be moved into the appropriate group. At that point, you may post. Also, character signatures must be under 550pxls wide or else they may be removed or re-sized.
